The Altman Easy Latch takes over where Bear Claw® latches and other universal rotary style latches leave off. Our bear jaw rotary claw latch kits are vehicle specific and work with your interior and exterior handles, as well as your exterior lock cylinders. Our jam plates are contoured to match the vehicles door to make it look like it belonged on the door from the beginning. We didn't reinvent the wheel when it came to this type of latch, we just made it function the way you want it to. We did step things up where we saw others fail. The "claws" on our latches are laser cut from 3/16" steel, case hardened, and black oxide coated. Strength, durability, and corrosion protection. The Altman Easy Latch kits are designed, produced, and assembled in the USA.

Each Altman Easy Latch kit comes with everything you need to get your doors opening and closing like a brand new car. Right down to stainless steel striker pins and installation hardware. Our instructions are easy to follow, and installation can be done with tools found in most home garages. See below for an example of our installation instruction images. In the beginning we referred to our latches as b*** claw latches. We were quickly contacted by the people from The Hoffman Group and told to stop using their term Bear Claw® latches in regards to our Altman Easy Latch. Turns out they trademarked the term Bear Claw® latch even though to the best of our knowledge it has been an industry term for much longer than their company has existed. Turns out we dodged a bullet though. We definitely do not make, nor want to be associated with the Autoloc Bear Claw® latch. To show you why, we have below a comparison of our latch and theirs. Thank you Autoloc / Hoffman Group, we DO NOT make Bear Claw® latches.

"You can't make any money handling your own parts, all I do is handle boxes", that is what we were told by one industry leader. When, as a country, did we become so afraid of work? We have to work harder to bring you a quality part. In turn, you may have to pay a little more for a quality part. In the end though, you will buy that part once.
