QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will these correct the handles sagging as well as the doors popping open?

They will certainly assist in those problems. Our latches are a newer design with much better functionality than stock replacements. As for the handle sag, it is very possible that our latch will improve the way the handle sits. Do keep in mind that over the years, your handle shaft may have twisted. This may require additional work to get your handle to sit perfectly straight.

  • Hi I have a 52 f1 with kindig it designs handles what kit would I need to order for these?

We will have to put together a kit for you. Please call in when you have a chance and we can fix you up. 1.866.987.4783

  • I have a 51 f1 ford pickup it has no key holes and no door laches will these work on mine and could I put electric poppers with them (aucuwaiters)

The kit should work fine for your application. You would order our shaved handle option. There will be a place to connect your inside door handle, as well as your door solenoid.

  • I have a 51 f100 with original leaches and only 1 key cylinder on the pasinger side if I get your leaches can I put key cylinder on both doors

Both of the latches in the Altman Easy Latch kit come with lock provisions installed, so if you wish to add a lock cylinder to the drivers side, you will be all set up.

  • I was installing this kit(1950 f1) and I broke the striker pin bolt off in the plate. Is there a way to buy just these pieces?

You can purchase replacement striker bolts and or striker blocks.

  • I have a '49 Ford F1, I'm staying with original handles (inside and out) and orig door lock cylinder. My question is does the inside door handle lock the truck or does it have to be done by the key or power door lock solenoid? If the doors were locked by a power lock solenoid can they be unlocked by the key door cylinder?

The inside door handle will no longer lock/unlock the door. Our lock mechanism works with the factory lock cylinder. Also, you can use power lock actuators. Most lock actuator kits have an option for a main actuator and secondary actuators. Meaning when you use you exterior lock cylinder to unlock the door, it overides the actuator, as it pushes the actuator rod back in, it will trigger the other actuator to unlock as well. Clarify this with the company that you buy your actuators from. We recommend Watson's Streetworks for lock actuators because they are very knowledgeable. With that said, there are many dealers that carry a wide variety of lock actuator kits.
